Action Man is a monthly comic series from IDW Publishing based on the Action Man franchise. Action Man was a moveable action figure officially licensed by Palitoy as a copy of Hasbro's G.I. Joe figure for sale in the United Kingdom. Action Man was acquired by Hasbro when the company bought out Palitoy.
Action Man is the codename for the United Kingdom's foremost secret agent. The Action Man Programme has kept the British Isles safe since the reign of Elizabeth I, and generally operates in secret against threats like Doctor X. There have been many operatives codenamed Action Man over the years, but the newest – Ian Noble – has to prove that he is up to the task after the death of his predecessor.
IDW's incarnation of Action Man debuted in Rom 0, with To The Victors The Spoils, written by John Barber with art by Chris Evenhuis. The series proper launched in June 2016 with Barber on writing duties and art provided by Paolo Villanelli.
